INTRODUCTION
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has given priority to the downtrodden students and staffs during IX plan period and given direction to all the universities to establish OBC & Minority Cell. The OBC & Minority Development Cell at Davangere University, Davangere, Karnataka State, was established in the year 2009-10. After the establishment of the Cell at Davangere University, Davangere, it specifically concentrated on the welfare of the OBC & Minority students. The main aim of the Cell is to monitor the guidelines issued by the MHRD, the University Grants Commission and by the government of Karnataka from time to time.
Vision
To be an assisting institution of encouragement to the progressive works of OBC & Minority Students of Davangere University through continually responding to the changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge, towards creating a people-centered and ecologically sustainable society that promotes and protects the dignity, equality, social justice and human rights for all, with special emphasis on marginalized and vulnerable groups with special focus on OBC & Minority Students .
Mission
In pursuance of its vision, Davangere University organizes teaching, orientation, workshops and other supportive programmes to facilitate the development and competency among OBC & Minority Students to take up innovative research programmes to reach out to the larger community through extension, at the local, regional, national and international levels.
