About the department:
Davangere University Post Graduate (PG) Centre Jnanagangotri has established in the Year 2010 located at Guddada Rangavana (G.R) halli. The specific purpose is to enhance the access to Higher Education to the students from rural, remote, and backward area of this region. At the same time The Department of Economics started in the Year of 2010. At Present Two Assistant Professors are serving in the department on permanent basis. The department is committed to impart quality education to the students and encourage research and skill development activities and for the all-round development more particularly for academic excellence in the department. The department is offering Master of Programme (M.A. Economics).

Department intends to be research oriented with an emphasis on value addition and uphold the dignity and academic excellence of the University. provide the highest quality education to students, nurture their talent, promote intellectual growth and shape their personal development and serve humanity through the creation of well-rounded, multi-skilled and socially responsible global citizens.

The Department is dedicated to higher learning and give exposure to the student community to newer heights of knowledge to promote excellence in higher education. Foster all-round development of students through multi-faceted education and sustained engagement with local, national and global communities, and nurture lifelong inspired learners from across the globe in line with our cultural.
