About Political Science:

The Department of Political Science, Davangere University was established in 2010, offering MA Programme. Desire to spread the Discipline by attracting students across the state and nation for transforming the ideas and views of Political Science; it has achieved a great extent.

            The Department of Political Science is pivotal in enrich the student regarding teaching, research and extension activities. At the outset, it has a good number of teaching faculties with vibrant academic knowledge in different areas of specialization i.e., Indian Polity, Public Administration, Comparative Politics, International Relations and Political theory. Department has organized various National and State level conferences, seminars, workshops and symposiums. Department has a Student Alumni Association which is registered and actively involved in the progress of the department.

Vision of the Department is to achieve the status of national excellence in the studies and research in Political Science to contribute to the betterment of the world order. 

Mission:

  • Department strives and enriches student knowledge for understanding of Politics and institutional processes to acquaint them with issues and problems of Politics and developing confidence to tackle issues.
  • Department will cultivate the teaching skills and research mechanisms among the students. And also we will foster civic mindedness and civic responsibility. 
  • The Department seeks to provide students with a learning experience that will equip them to face the challenges of an increasingly complex job market and prepare them to become active and engaged citizens at the local, national and international levels.
